Mrs. Hollie Sewell
My name is Hollie Sewell and I am the Assistant Principal at Pleasant Valley High School. I was born and raised in Etowah County (Rainbow City) and my family and I have lived in Southside for the past twelve years. I am a high school graduate of Gadsden High School (before it became Gadsden City) and a college graduate of JSU. I began my teaching career in Etowah County where I taught 7-12 grade English Language Arts at Gaston. I called Gaston home for eight years before moving to Hokes Bluff Middle School where I taught 7th grade English Language Arts for six years. After fourteen years of teaching English, I retired my red pens and novels to go into administration. I became the Assistant Principal at Pleasant Valley High School in 2021, and I am still going strong! I am married to Derrick Sewell (Head football coach at Gaston) and we have two sons, Taylor (15) and Jax (8). Taylor is a Sophomore at Southside High School and Jax is in second grade at Southside Elementary. When we are not on some kind of field, we love to take trips! Lastly, Jax would shame me if I didn’t mention that we have two dogs that round out our family; Rhett (a Yorkie) and Piper (a Goldendoodle).
